on tap at the mill street brewpub. I have to say, its not spectacular, i find the oktoberfest, tankhouse, esb, and IPA are all VERY similar with just very very very subtle differences. decent beer, but nothing great

Draught at the brewpub
Amber color, creamy head. The aroma is a bit dusty. Dry caramel flavor, dusty too, and with too much roastiness; relatively strong bitterness.
More an anonymous American Amber than a ESB.

Not sure if this was just because it was the first taster of the morning at the Mill St. brewery store, but it tastes and smells a little sour. The bitterness factor doesn’t come much into play here. An unexpected - and not very pleasant - experience.

Amber, fast fading beige head. Neutral nose. Wtery malt profile, light hop finish. Thin & underflavored. Totally unremarkable Pretty much a drain pour........... seems I didn’t have the same beer as everyone else !!

Bottle: Poured a clear light copper color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light dry caramel malt notes with some light dry hops. Taste is a mix of dry caramel malt notes with some light subtle hops at the end. Body is about average with good carbonation. Nothing bad here though nothing earth shattering either.

Few ounce sample from bottle, pours clear copper with a small white head. Aroma of English malts, bready and citrus hops. Flavour of English malt, stale bread and watery metallic malt. Not very good.

Got this one in the Mill Street Seasonal Sampler IV. Pours a clean deep amber colour with a small off-white cap with average retention and a bit of lacing. Aromas of roasted and caramel malts, mild dark fruits, hints of molasses and a little hop. The mouthfeel is pretty wet, kind of boring with no stickiness to it and falls short. The taste is a bit too mild as well. A lot compared to the decent nose. Watery caramel, bread and a tad hop bitterness in the end. I would like to see this one less diluted with more punch to it.

A lightly hazed dark amber with a thick moka head. Aroma of caramel malt and mashed pea. In mouth, a rather chalky and boring ale, almost lager like, no British hops, medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, August 7 2010.

Amber-red colour. Some caramel nose. Some breadcrust malts and herbal hops on the palate. Earthy, caramelly taste. Well-balanced with a slight herbal hop note. Earthy finish. Nice bitter.
