Bottle, pours clear dark amber with minimal off-white quickly dissipating head. Aroma is of roasted malt and little else. Taste is lightly malty, perhaps nutty. Watery in mouth, very mild and unoffensive. Not a lot going on here.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with a large foamy dark tan head that faded quickly and left decent lacing. The aroma was toasty and nutty with hints of cocoa and wood with a very faint vague fruity undertone. The flavor was nutty and toasty with light notes of wood and cocoa. The beer turned somewhat bitter on the finish. Medium body. Ok.

This beer pours brownish-amber with a medium foamy light beige head that diminishes slowly. Thin strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of mildly roasted malt and nuts. Light to medium body with flavors of roasted nuts, peat malt and a bit of chocolate. The finish is sweet with a short roasted malt aftertaste. Overall the beer tastes pretty good but falls short since nothing really resonates.

Clear brown ale with a thin off white head. Aroma of roasted malts, distillery, a bit pungeant. In mouth, a rather light and watery mild, with light sweet malt, a bit of nuts...disappointing for Magic Hat. On tap at Mahar, May 31, 2008.

Ruby brown in color... not sure what the guy before me thought in regard to the color, but it seems as though everyone disagrees on the color. Quickly descending head. Smells like chocolate and sugar. Tastes like sourness and bad fruity tastes... almost as if it is skunked. I found it to be mediocre. 4.2 percent alcohol was written on the bottle.

Bottle from a sampler. Pours Copper-brown with no head. Carbonation is reminiscent of cola. Aroma is strong roasted malt and nuts. Bitter roasted malt taste with some green-appleish acidic fruity notes. Medium to thin body.

Bottle. Brown with a very small head. Smells of newspaper, cardboard, and some nuts. Flavor of slight caramel malts and some bland grassiness. Blah.

Bottle. Pour is a brown color with reddish highlights and a fairly big head. Aromas are kind of boozy with some wet cardboard and a bit of a bock side to them... Flavor is a strange mix of wet cardboard, sawdust, nuts and brown sugar. Nice but fairly plain and a little watery.

Yeasty aroma of good old beer. Darkish brown in color. Almost tart choco malt alky flavor. Good tingle on the palate. perhaps some roasty coal or smoke in the background. Interesting brew that is not too odd. A unique finish which is not too bitter nor over the top. Easily enjoyed.
