Lightly cloudy yellow with a white head. Citrus, grapefruit, a touch of spice, along with lightly toasted cereal malt. Medium bodied. Finish is lightly chalky and dry with a solid bitterness. I waffle on this. It’s soft and muted yet full of flavor. Interesting.

330ml bottle as part of a delivery from the brewery. As Pale Ale Ella (5.3%). Light gold, a little bit of haze with a small white head. Earthy nose with sweet spice, caramel, white grape. A little hard for me to pinpoint at first but the grape becomes more clear as time goes on. Bittersweet taste, lots of hop to the fore, with medicinal notes in the finish. Gentle body, soft carbonation. Good but I’ve had better from The Kernel.

Bottle 330ml.
Clear medium to dark orange yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, toasted - caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, citrus, grapefruit. Flavour is moderate sweet and light heavy bitter with a long duration, dry, citrus hops, woody notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel has a metalic note. Bottle. Pours a pale yellow, fine white head. Aroma is herbal, earthy, pine, grass, skunky hops. Medium body. Flavour is sweet and malty, medium bitterness, earthy, pine. Little grapefruit, orange, orange rind. Quite nice, but not one of the outstanding beers from the kernel.

Bottle from Against The Grain. Hazy golden body with a few flecks beneath a lasting white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of melon and orange pith. Flavour of soap and melon rind. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. It’s fine but not one of the Kernel’s finest.

Took me a while to locate this single hop Pale in the system, ah Stella, of course, this is a bottle of Ella, consumed 11th April 2021. Pours an off clear golden beer, firm frothy head. Aroma is citrus and grapefruit. Taste is bitter, grapefruit, biscuit, aromatic, quite complex, grassy, with a dry and bitter pithy grapefruit linger. Liking the kernel bitter finish

Bottle, via Kernel’s online shop. As Pale Ale Ella at 5.3%. Medium haze on a bright lemon gold. Kernel swede. Looks the beans. Nose has some sweet, buttery malts. Ripe melon. Some slightly weird, rotten satsuma thing going on. Taste has some buttery sweetness. A little dry and bitter. Just about a medium body. Soft carbonation. Lingering bitterness to finish. My second of these, ordered at the same time, but the first one was better?

Tap @ Borefts 2012. Pineapple and grapefruit in the somewhat oily hoparoma. Soft but persistant oily hopflavor with some citric notes. Good!
