This new, refreshing ale marries subtly bitter fruity notes with the character from its Norfolk-grown Maris Otter barley, complemented by a pleasing, hoppy aftertaste.

Hand-pulled half-pint from the Woodforde’s brewery bar at the CAMRA Peterborough Beer Festival on 26th Aug 2015. My first beer of the day. Light amber body with a white head. Decent enough blend with a fruity nose and initial flavour, some malt sweetness arrives mid-sip before a mild bitterness finishes the taste.

Cask at the Duck in the Pond, Harrow. Amber with a thick white head. Fairly bitter from the off with some light earthy, citrus and pine notes. The bitterness is a little heavy-handed though and doesn’t really let the flavours come through enough. Nevertheless it’s a crisp ale with a decently full mouthfeel, but it could have been better.

On cask at the Haymarket. Appearance - amber with a proportionate head. Nose - a bit elusive but light biscuit. Taste - light citrus and dry biscuit. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy yet crunchy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - solid but not special.

Cask @ Moon Under Water, Manchester. Deeper golden coloured with a thin head. Fairly well balanced with a small hoppy fruitiness more prevalent. Crisp but surprisingly a touch thin for its strength.
