Our 2016 collab festival beer with Brewdog Shoreditch. It’s easy drinking, slightly tart, yet full on breakfast stout. We added smoke malt for ash, cherries from the fruit cellar and our Has Bean Coffee. This along with huge quantities of oats and lactose for full bodied stout.

Bottle. Black body with a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of filter coffee, soy sauce and blueberries. Flavour of black cherry, nuts and roasted malt. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Restrained and well balanced. I’d love to try a stronger, more concentrated version of this.

Keg at the Brewdog shepherds Bush. A black brown coloured pour with a lasting mid tan head. Aroma is smooth earthy roast, liquorice, malt, little meaty. Flavour is composed of earthy malts, smooth roast little veg, bell pepper, cola cubes, Pepsi. Palate is frothy carbonation, creamy to drying finish. Quite weird, but good.

Pint in BrewDog Shoreditch. Inky black with a minimal off white head. Lits of liquorice in this, really like it

Keg at BDSB. It pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, umami, meaty, tangy fruits, cherry, balsamic vinegar and Worcestershire sauce. The taste is smooth, sweet, big coffee character, earth roast, umami, ashy, berry, and some spice with a dry, toasty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Bit of disconnect between aroma and taste. Fair.

Keg at BDSB - London. Pours dark town with a rimmy, beige head. The nose smacks of red wine, some tangy berries, light roast, wood, cocoa. Medium sweet flavour with rampant ripe berry character, some woody dryness, understated roasted malts, a little earthy bitterness. Medium bodied Keith fine carbonation. Finishes with more berries, cherries, red wine, dry chocolate, faint tangy edge. Nice complexity.
