2/12/2019. Bottle from Topsham Wines, Topsham. 5.0% abv. Pours clear dark amber with a long lasting creamy off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, toffee, brown bread, hops and citrus. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Slight orangy finish with a little tartness. Not bad.

Bottle from Greendale Farm Shop. Amber brown with mid-sized head. Malty with some roasted flavours and a shy sourish touch. Fruity hops in the finish.

Bottle from Darts Farm, Devon. Amber-chestnut with a beige head and rather too much fizz. Tastes of marmalade, lemon peel, pine, cinnamon, brown toast, and a touch of toffee. Sticky and resin but with a dry and mildly bitter finish. All the flavours are good individual, but overall it doesn't work. The pine just doesn't go with the other flavours. That apart, I still enjoyed it.

Pigs Ear Fest. Cask. Light haze on this amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Nice condition. Light malts, sweetish. Fair dose of sweet candy fruits, lesser sherbet. Mild citric peel bitterness emerges before the dry finish. Interesting and tasty.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’16, 29/11/16. Rich amber to gold with a decent light beige head of bubbles. Nose is orange marmalde, biscuit crumble, brown bread, light hop notes. Taste comprises candied orange rinds, earthy hop dusting, trace of red grapefruit, light spice, toasted brioche, caramel. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a light hop dusting. Decent enough offering, a hoppy brown half way to a CDA almost!
