Cask (gravity) @ 32th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2015, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England. [ As Hackney Ginger Bread Oatmeal Stout ].Clear dark black - red brown color with a average, frothy and open, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, oat, chocolate, spicy, ginger - ginger cake. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, spicy, dark malt, roasted, ginger cake. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. 1st December 2015
Pigs Ear Day 1. Cask. Clear deep reddish brown beer, a few pale tan bubbles. Palate is smooth, mild carbonation. Mellow dark malts, touch of tang. Ginger cake. Mild tangy fruits. Light semi dry finish. Ginger and mild chocolate linger on. Tasty enough.

Cask at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours darkest brown with a small, bubbly beige head. The nose is toasty, earthy, umami, coffee, earthy roast, festive and dark gingerbread. The taste is bitter, toasty, earthy roast, festive spice, ginger ale, mild acidity and light ash with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Good aroma for sure. Overall - fair.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015, day 1 - London. Pours clear brown with a mild, off-white foam head. Dark malts in the nose, some ripe berries, winter spices. Light to medium sweet flavour with mellow roast, earth, toasted grains, drying cinnamon. Light in body with fine carbonation; OK condition. Dry on the finish, with toasted grains, dried berries, and more dry cinnamon. Just OK overall. Not too cohesive.

Cask at Pigs Ear ’15, 01/12/15. Rich mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is cinnamon, clove, toffee, biscuit malt, spice. Taste comprises light ginger, biscuit, spice, toffee, brown bread, light roasted tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok spiced stout.
