Sainsbury's Own, Night In Trio Of Ales#2. A little bit darker this time, and it is a darker amber coloured beer. Traditional in design, there's a few fruity caramels in here, which do linger in its aftertaste, but not enough to escape being quite a dull effort with a light bitter character. There's a lot better winter warmer ales around in style too.

Foamy off white head on a chestnut coloured body.
Nutty aroma.
Medium bodied, creamy & airy with a lively clean back.
Malt, brown bread, nutty, chocolate & spiced tastes with a lightly hopped finish.
Great with sausages - according to the label.

[50cl bottle from my local Sainsbury’s.] A dark copper brown coloured pour with a scant white head; hedgerow hop aroma; fruity hop taste with some fig and malty caramel; then a lingering fruity finish. A pleasant winter ale, but rather thin.

Bottle from Sainsburys Streatham at home in London 20/11/2024 Toasted sweet malty with notes of caramel and dried fruit, some marmalade like dark citrus fruity undertones, medium body, touch of spices into the sweet toasted malty finish. 500ml bottle. Pale copper in colour, with a thin, off-white, head and moderate carbonation. Aroma of red berries, slightly toasted malts and orange peel, with some leafy hops. Flavour has some more fruity sweetness upfront, with robust, almost earthy, malts some spicy complexity and a lingering, bitter finish with yet more jammy fruit. A very good supermarket beer.

Bottle from Eltham Sainsburys. Reddish brown pour with a beige head. Nose is candied peel, dried fruit, orange marmalade. Taste is very similar. Spicy jammy-sweet aftertaste.
