New at my beerstore. Cool name, cool label. America’s first lager, I wonder how true that is? Slightly darker than pale yellow in appearance. Tea froth head. No real menacing attributes, rather friendly and drinkable. Aroma has some metallic hints. Acceptable pale lager for the most part. Probably should be under the premium lager style.

12 oz. Bottle. Here’s something new: a "virtual" beer that’s not owned by Pabst or brewed by Miller. Pours a decent dark golden pils color under a fluffy head head. Somewhat oxidized hop smell. Taste does show some malts to it, grainy with a bot of honey. Hops are just there to keep the sweetness at bay. But beyond that, there’s nothing much holding this together. Needs something in the body to unite this as a beer instead of a collection of grains and aromas. Maybe the owners of the Lemp name can get a brew facility of their own and then decide if they’re really in the beer business. At least it’s available in the St. Louis area.

Deep amber coloured body (not golden at all) with no head at all to speak of. Aroma of pale malt, lemons, wheat, caster sugar and even some hops! Light-bodied; Sharp flavour of malt up front fading to some cardboard and light citrus flavours as well. Aftertaste is a bit nicer with some sugars and malt most noticeable. Overall, not a horrible beer and one even maybe worth trying for the style. I agree that it is better than the BMC products around, but nothing more than just another lager. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Spirit Shop in Norman, Oklahoma on 24-April-2007.

Bottle. Lemp St. Louis Lager Beer on the label, assuming this is the same. Not sure why everyone is criticizing this one. I thought from pour to finish, that this was a solid lager beer. Far superior to the BMC’s of the world, and quite satisfying having a few through the night.

Pours a nice golden color with a big white foamy head. No real aroma here. Flavor is very sweet. You get some malts in there but the sweetness overpowers. Not bad for a lager but at the same time not all that good. Way overpriced at $8 a six. I bought it on sale for $5.99 and that is even to much.
