Can shared at the CBJ tasting, thanks to Reubs, 27/11/24. Black with a lasting tan head. Nose is chocolate, dried fruit esters, toffee, dark malts. Taste comprises roast malts, toffee, charr, raisins, cocoa powder, toffee. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with a spike of alcohol. Okay sipper but lacking depth for the ABV.

Tap at Fermentoren. Black. Coffee grind, grainy, chalk. Taste is long, sour edgy, but then creamy and coffee, milk, bitter dark chocolate. Not bad.

Hoptimaal #7 Sweet roasted malty and vanilla like aroma. a bit mild for a 10%er, brown sugar, the kind you get as sticks with irish coffee some times. Flavor is roasted malts, cedar wood, very faint hard roasted or smoked malts, great balance, the aftertaste is extraordinarily good with bitterness dominated by a blend of various notes of hard roasted malts. I was fearing the cinnamon, but it has been used in such low quantities that all it seems to do is to turn the wooden sensation into a cedar woody sensation, which, to me, is an upgrade. really good baltic porter.

Can thanks to Reubs. Semi opaque dark brown beer, small and short lived tan head. Light palate, fairly dry, decent fine carbonation. Thin dark chocolate malts, tasty enough. Ripe fruits. A fairly light and semi dry finish. Fine. Ish.
