clear bottle with pale ale on the neck label. Pours a clear copper, with a big frothy off eggshell head. Aroma of butter, wet paper, dried grass, and twigs. Mouth feel is solid, along with a good carbonation. Finish is earthy, with some very slight english style hops. Some light grassy notes, light bitterness, and a touch of what i would call some goldings.

(bottle) clear amber colour with a small tan head; aroma of fruit; simple flavour, predominantly bitter, with long medium bitter finish; unimpressive

This ale poured a deep amber colour with a minimal, off white head. Scents include malt, caramel, tea and bread. First sip was very thin and lifeless. Light hop bitterness with a unsweetened tea flavor. Finish is lightly hoppy with that tea flavor lingering...

From the LCBO, in the BC Craft Brewers Guild Natural Selections 6-pack. Pours a copper-amber colour with a nice creamy off-white head, good retention and thick lacing. Lots of caramel aromas with some rusty hops that become better as it breathes. Notes of pines and nuts. Mouthfeel is kind of boring, light. Same flavours found in the nose but watered-down. Mild bitterness creating a small dry finish. Great looking pale ale, but falls short as you drink it.

Poured from 341mL bottle. Clear copper brown with decent off-white head. Very malty aroma with mild hops. Taste is some malt with medium hops. Not very full-flavoured. Dry finish. Average overall

Draught at Amberjack Tap House, Surrey, BC
Golden color; small creamy head. Light malt and hop aroma. Creamy malt flavor, ordinary; the yeast more than the hop gives a light fruity final. Correct bitterness. Simple but pleasant.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large foamy head with average retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry caramel malt with light dry hops as well. Taste is dominated by not overly complex dry caramel malt with very little hops apparent. Body is about average with good carbonation. Standard pale ale with little character but no flaws as well.

Bright brick amber colour; finger of dense foam denotes either a richly hopped beer or a frothier gas mixture. Probably the latter given the faintness of the nose - a little bit of herbal hop but little else. The palate is crisp, with some wood-oven notes and earthy, caramelly undertones. The finish is accented towards the foresty (American-style) end of the spectrum, but the hops are restrained and balanced by slight earthiness of yeast and malt, in the English style.
