16 oz. can from Whippoorwhill Beer House & Package Store, Orlando, FL. Pours a pitch black color with a tan head and decent retention. No lacing. Dark roasted malt and faint coffee aroma. The taste follows the nose, with dark roasted malt, some dark chocolate, and almost no coffee notes, with a dry finish. Very thin mouthfeel for a stout. Low bitterness. Clean and smooth, but the weak body results in a lifeless finish.

From a pint can. Pours black with a tan head. Aromas of leather and cocoa. Flavors are moderately bitter roast coffee. Decent porter

An at home. Fine dark black pour and a one finger head. Nose is faint chocolate and dark fruits. Tastes of roast, chocolate, cola, ash, plum, dark cherry. Thinner bodied for style. Slick palate.

Easy-drinking, but not particularly interesting, with a bready, slightly chocolate-tinged middle leading into a roasty, toasted pumpernickel fade. The lingering notes of char are nice, but otherwise not a whole lot going on. Very sippable, just not memorable.

Pint at the new production facility pours a dark coffee/cola color with just a ring of brown head. Nose has malt, toast, a touch of smoke, some rye. Flavor is meaty, malty, chewy, toast, smoke, black pepper. Finishes just off dry. Very close.
