Silver Dollar is our highly popular, award winning American Pale Ale. This 4.9% ale features a glowing amber colour, robust malt base and west coast American hops. The solid malt backbone allows us to use more of these hops, which feature a higher alpha acid content, giving a bold citrus fruit flavour and a piney character quintessential of this style of beer. The bitterness is lasting but not overpowering.

Aroma: Mild aroma of toffee and hops.
Appearance: Clear amber body with a medium off-white head that holds well. Lively carbonation. Good lacing.
Taste: Caramel, dried apricot and bitter hops.
Palate: Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Prickly carbonation.
Overall: Not a bad beer but I prefer my APAs to be more punchy and flavoursome.

[Cask at the Belle Vue, High Wycombe] Amber-gold with a small white head. Lots of orange and pine is set against some warming friendly maltiness and an odd hint of marzipan. Moderate bitterness. Plenty of flavour, but well balanced. Could drink a lot of this. Nice one.

Cask at the Queens Arms, London. Pours clear gold with a fine, white head. Bitter orange citrus aroma with some toasted pine and grass. Light to medium sweet flavor with more dry pine and grass, some dry and toasty bread, orange rind. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately dry and resinous to finish with further dry orange peel, toasted pine and grass. Very good!

Cask @ The Bridge House in Little Venice, smallish stable head, clear deep gold colour with dark orange taints, oxidised and hay aroma with some strawberry jam, jammy flavour with with some touches of fruity citrusy hoppiness, medium empathic bitterness and a touch too strong sweetness, bittersweet aftertaste. Nice but not too great.

Gravity dispense at the Falcon, CLJ, 06/02/13. Clear golden with a decent sized frothy off white head that retains well. Nose carries hops, caramel malt, light grapefruit, orange. Taste comprises hops, orange, apricot jam, pine, light sugars, caramel. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, some bitterness in a sweet but dryish finish. Decent.

Craft Clerkenwell. Cask. Almost clear gold beer. Little white head. Light dry palate, low carbonation. Dry pale malt, dry hops that are mostly bitter (US hops? Really?) Dry finish with an astringent linger. Misses the APA mark completely to be a below average bitter. 2.3

Craft Clerkenwell. Slightly sweet malt, touch of honey. Semi sweet marmalade hops with a light floral touch. Finishes sweet and semi dry. Good beer and unrecognisable from the first time I tried it!

Cask, half at Old Wellington. Lasting, small beige head. Fine lacework. Clear amber coloured body. Perfumed malty-fruity aroma. Taste of basement, orange and died fruits. Smooth fruity ending. Different and ok (Manchester, 21.01.2013).

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 16/02/2012. Amber with a slight white head. Aroma of sweetish malts, hedgerow fruits and some grassy hops. Flavour had more fruit, with a touch of citrus, slightly creamy malts and a decent, dryish finish. Fine.
