Bottleshare at CBJ. Thanks to someone. Light dry and finely crisp palate. Thinnish but rich dark malts, decent dark chocolate. Mild peat and spicy ripe fruits. Tidy.

Cask at Petersgate Tap, Stockport. Pours almost black with a sizeable beige head. There’s a strong aroma of oak and alcohol with some roast malts too. In the mouth it is strongly bitter with liquorice, coffee / tia maria, malts and alcohol. Traces of tar and wet wood as well. Finish fluctuates between bitter and sweet. This is excellent – but I think I preferred the straight version.
