Lagerwine (Barleywine-style Lager) boiled 12 hours for intense natural caramelization and fermented with our house lager yeast for extra crispness and an extra clean fermentation profile. Aged in our temperature controlled American oak lagering foeder for 5 months to smooth any rough edges and remove any trace of alcohol heat. The result is one of the most technically astounding beers we've ever made that's full of ultra-malty melanoidins, rich caramel & notes of heavily toasted bread crust with plum jam.

Panda thanks to SaltyGrog: Poured a dark caramel color with a beige head. Aroma is boozy, rich malts, dark fruits, woodsy, caramel. Taste is rich malts, dark fruits, raisins, woodsy, alcohol boozy.

16oz can. At the February DCBeer share. Poured a poured a dark cola color with a tan head, legs on the glass. Aroma was boozy malt, raisins, dried dates. Flavor was spicy malt, with booze. Smooth, but boozy. Big and tasty.

16oz can pours a burnt garnet with some beige head. Nose is huge malt, just all the grain stuff. Booze and raisins and dates. Treacle. Flavor is boozy, malty and spicy. Lots of baking spice. All the malt. Full bodied, boozy, sticky. Decadent.

Single from somewhere. No receipts or born on date. Pint glass at home. Opaque, sticky lace, brown honey ale-looking pour. Honey-citrus, russet potatoes, sticky grain nose. Earthy, honey-oats, maple, lemon-honey, orange oil, sweet cigar, burnt toffee, long astringent finish. Creeping medium acidity, bright, ashy texture. Simple & okay. Lagering doesn't add anything.

Future proofing a style? Not too dissimilar to a barleywine, but heavier emphasis on the sweet, roasty malts. A bit of molasses and caramel. Quite good.

Interesting stuff. Lots of flavors of a barley wine but dialed back. Bourbon and prune. Leather, tobacco. Black pour with decent head. Boozy Bitter end with some caramel sweetness. Tap at brewery.

Tap. Pours clear chestnut, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is caramel, toffee, oak, vanilla, coffee. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter. Medium body.
