12oz bottle at my Son-in-Laws (California) on 25th Jan 2017. Very dark, OK, it’s black; difficult to get any sort of head, even when I poured robustly. Mint aroma and initial taste, the dark chocolate bit creeps in a little later. I was supposed to share the bottle, but my Son-in-Law is not one for trying different beers and after one sip gave me his half of the bottle. Interesting beer, but the one small bottle is enough for me.

Sehr minziger Geruch. Spritzig, im Antrunk ist Minze erkennbar, das Malz gerät in den Hintergrund. Geringe Bitterkeit. Aufdringlich. 10/8/9/8/10/8

Draft at the brewery taproom. Pours deep brown with a creamy, beige head. The nose holds dry chocolate, roast, burnt wood and cool mint. Medium sweet flavour with mild dark chocolate character, scorched earth, mint leaf. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Good balance on the finish, with nice mint integration, more mint leaves, dark chocolate and mellow earthy bitterness. Good stuff.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared by Dutchdebus. Very dark brown color, medium sized light to medium brown colored head that lasts for a decent while. Aroma is malts, dark malts, mint and also some chocolate, although perhaps the name of the beer is making me smell that sort of speak. Anyway, at least kinda close to what they say it is. Taste malts, again mint and some chocolate, but not too much so that it becomes undrinkable. A 22oz bottle on my own would be too much no doubt, but a nice glass of this is pretty enjoyable. Well, it’s either that or my sense of smell and taste are deeply letting me down tonight. In any case, better than expected beforehand.

Bottle @ benzai. Brown to black colour with a small brown head. Smells after eight chocolates mostly. Combination of mint and dark chocolate. Tastes minty, chocolate, dark chocolate. I expected some horrible stuff biut it’s doable. Not a huge fan though and 75cl would be way too much to drink solo. Medium body, soft to medium carbo.

Bomber from bhensonb! Thanks a bunch Bill for all the brews! Nose is mint, chocolate, and a hint of anise. Black with a big long lasting tan head. Flavor is chocolate, mint and quite a bit of anise. Nice tasting brew.

Sample at a weekly bottle sharing event at Red House BBQ in Tehachapi, CA on 02/02/2013. Dark brown pour with a medium light beige head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Dark chocolate and mint in the nose. Light to medium body with flavors of fresh mint, chocolate and malt. The finish is chocolatey with a minty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Picked up when I was at Bine & Vine on Adams Ave. The 22oz bomber pours chocolate brownie in color with a mocha head of foam. The aroma offers up some dark fruity esters moving quickly into chocolate and then a modest mix of earthy malts and mint. The taste is similar with mild sweet dark fruity esters rolling quickly into an even mix of dark roasted malts and mint. Pretty nice but it really needs to warm some top open up. Underneath these notes is a thin layer of chocolate that begins to come out as it warms. Nice beer provided it isn’t served and consumed too cold.
