We decided to join forces again with our best buds Wylam Brewery and push things all things DIPA further again. This is a belter.
This one’s all Maris Otter, Wheat, Oats and Carapils, fermented on ESB yeast then dry hopped over two stages with Idaho 7, Centennial & BRU-1.
It’s a big, soft and creamy bowl of bubblegum, melons and citrus to beat the band, and it’s out there now.

440ml can. Sweetish, slightly stuffy and ripe tropical fruity with some citrus, pine, grass and mango. Okay, quite sweet and slick.

Can shared at home. Pours a very hazy (perhaps I got out all the yeast from the bottom of the can) yellow with a small bit of head. Aroma is very tropical, spicy with loads of pine. But what a juice bomb! Strawberry (very distinctly), papaya and mango, as well as lighter citrus notes. Medium to big body, soft and smooth mouthfeel. Flavour is big and rich, with an intense malt base with a considerable amount of caramel malt and a very high sweetness. Indeed very sweet and usually I'd consider it too sweet, but in combination with the strawberry and mango/papaya flavours and a nice medium bitterness and a touch of pine this just works! Definitely a peculiar double IPA but I do like it - a nice synthesis between west coast and east coast with a good bitterness and a soft mouthfeel make this a smoothie-like hoppy IPA with unusual strawberry and papaya aromas. Intriguing, nice and drinkable considering the sweetness.

Whiplash Telephone Line. Can picked up from Speciaalbierpakket, Netherlands drinking this sat outside at home Attenkirchen Saturday 11th April 2020, weather is glorious, however we are now into day 24 of CORVID-19 enforced lockdown, listening to Pumarosa - Devastation . Pours cloudy yellowy colour with a big frothy white head. Fiercely hoppy but also overly sweet, juicy and hitting all the right notes, fruity, juicy but still not really appealing. 3 4 Had this again Sat 9th May, much better second time around, a great beer. 3.8

Can. Light haze on this gold beer, tidy bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth but still has decent fine minerally carbonation. Sweet pale malts, bordering on very sweet. Somewhat startling strawberries and cream, also purdy sweet. Sweet citrus underneath, semi sweet pine and some vague and yes, sweetish skunk. Light finish. A bit odd, seems overly sweet and with a flavour profile that doesn't appear to be aligned to the hops. Yet .. hard to dislike.
