Cask gravity at Reading BF 2014. Dark chocolate aroma touch of yeast extract. Bitter chocolate on the finish. Decent chocolate. Liked.

Bottle from Wellington, Sheffield [handbottle from cask] Cheers, Dave! - tried after 2 weeks in the bottle and no idea how long at the pub [040414]
Black, beige head, good lacing. Aroma of zesty hops, piney hops, very hop, didn’t seem to have detriorated. Taste as aroma with some rich dark malts, lots of bitter zest citrus, a bit sour - maybe due to the bottling. Palate - medium body with a dry finish.
Overall - Hard to rate this...certainly seemed decent enough, would like to get a proper bottle of this one day

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Very dark with a creamy off-white head. Easy drinking texture despite the strength which is not too evident at first but is more stated as you go along. There’s some balanced tropical fruits throughout.

Cask at the Holborn Whippet. It pours darkest ruby with a medium, bubbly tan head. The nose is roasted malt, some acidity, dirt, chocolate, treacle, lighter fuel, dark fruit and odd spicy edge. The taste is roasted malt, upfront alcohol, resin, treacle, rubber, dark fruits, dirt, decent bitterness and chewy malt with a dry finish. Medium body, lowish carbonation and chewy mouth-feel. A bit rough around the edges and the booze is too prominent. Not great.
