Can at home from Offie and Toffee. I messed up and managed to tip the sediment into the glass, but it didn’t affect things too badly. A brown, slightly gold colour in the glass and a good head. Lots of hops and a really full-on mouth feel. There was a fruity sweetness underlying the flavour that was really rather pleasant. This was good and would probably have been better without the sediment. Note to self: cans can have sediment too.

Can at the Drayman’s Son, Ely. Hazy Amber, pours with a healthy off-white head. Plentiful visible carbonation. Light peppery aromatic hops, with a touch of toffee and mango. It tastes incredibly bitter. There’s some chewy sweetness hidden in there somewhere, but to have to swim through some pretty intense hop oils to find it. The bitterness is in full flow throughout the long finish and aftertaste. More toffee and tropical fruit, along with hard citrus peel, in the aftertaste. A trifle messy but certainly above average.

4th December 2016
Can. Hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is airy, fairly dry and has reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth light creamy malts, sweetish. Good spicy stat to the hops, pine and very mild hop skunk. Good spritzy orange hops, rich orange and a little orange peel. Light spicy finish. Decent, could be a little cleaner.
