Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from the brewery taproom. Pours black-brown with a rich, foamy khaki head. Light sweet flavour with notes of cocoa, burnt cereal, charred toast, a little earth and pine, nips of citrus peel. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Great balance in the finish, further sturdy roast, burnt pine, orange rind. Simply delicious.

Bottle from HoTM. It pours pretty much black with a medium fluffy khaki head. The aroma is dark roasted malt, charred, some umami, charred pine, burnt toast, bright zingy citrus, lemon - lime, gooseberry, sherbet and fizzy candy. The taste is crispy, dry, snappy, dark roasted malt, charred pine, coffee beans, cacao nibs, liquorice, pithy, zesty, lemon - lime, orange peel, campari, fragrant, floral, juniper berries and some spice with a drying, dark roasted malt. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Flavourful and quaffable.
