Triple fermentation blond craft beer. The coppery and shiny color of this beer comes from the contribution of special malts. It has a powerful character, revealing rich aromas of malt. Subtle balance between the strength of roasted malts and the lightness of hops. Its alcohol content enhances the fruity aromas of yeast and the flowery aromas of hops.

Old rating - A 330ml bottle from L'Epicerie Quintinaise in Quintin, Brittany. Pours a deep amber with a white foamy head. Aromas of fruit, spice & malt. Tastes of citrus, fruits, spice, clove & sweet malt. Medium body & well balanced. Sweet finish. Very well-made Belgium pale, with high alcohol well hidden.

Tap at the quaint Teddy's in Paris, the first after completing the day's tourism. Slightly dark-amber with a glow and a small head. Solid triple with plenty of strength but plenty of flavour too. Hoppy, mild bubblegum and sugars.

Bottle from Beerwulf. Aroma is fruity and yeasty with pale malt, estery and floral notes, candied (ripe) fruits, honey, orange, prune. Flavour is quite sweet with a little alcohol. Body is above medium. Bit too sweet for me, but overall pretty drinkable stuff.

I've not had a lot of French beers but, this one is the best one I've had so far. Aroma was slightly spicy. Taste was slight cloves, well balanced and full of flavor.

Can from a Costco European Beer 10 pack. Poured a slightly opaque orange color, big fluffy head. Aroma was light bubblegum, sweet sugar. Sweet, but not overly sweet, light yeasty notes, fruity. Interesting. Alcohol well masked.

Tripel by this Normandic microbrewery, operated by two befriended brewers since 2012; thanks Hinke for the bottle! Egg-white, shred-like lacing, thickly moussy, foamy, stable head on an initially clear, warm orangey golden beer, turning peachy and misty with sediment, in the end even carrying protein flakes floating around. Aroma initially dominated by sharp carbon dioxide but once this effect is over, impressions appear of peach, gin, bread crust, chicken stock (no doubt linked to those proteins), cold vegetable soup even, cooked pumpkin, clove, apple peel, rubber. Sweetish onset with a slight sourish edge (enhanced by the rather sharp carbonation), light hints of pear, unripe peach and apple peel but relatively low in esters; bready, bit biscuity and wheaty-sourish core under growing yeastiness, adding strong clove- and even rubber-like phenols, before a leafy, long-stretched hop bitter element sets in, accentuating the generally dryish character of this ale. Alcohol is clearly noticeable in the end and should have been better hidden at this ABV, which is at the lower edge of what, in my view, still can be called ‘tripel’ rather than just ‘blonde’. Ordinary and probably over its peak already, this is yet another redundant tripel, albeit in northern France this time instead of Belgium.

Mooi kruidig, beetje banaan en tarwe, mandarijn. Bijna een weizenbock, maar dan wel een stuk lichter en doordrinkbaarder.

4/VIII/20 - 33cl bottle @ Fred’s Social Distancing BBQ, BB: I/2021 (2020-723) Thanks to Fred for sharing the bottle!
Clear orange beer, small creamy white head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots and lots of curaçao, some glühwein, alcohol, pretty oxidized, some dried fruits. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: medicinal, very oxidized, almonds, pretty bitter, grains, some orange peel. Aftertaste: very oxidized, orange peel, bit sweet, almonds, caramel, meh, not bad, but a bit disappointing.
