29-09-18 // taster from the bottle at Mon Petit Cafe Stuttgart at the Pre-Zwanze-Tasting. Murky golden. Sweetish. Grape nose. Sweet malts. Boozy. Dry. Interesting. A bit too sweet for me so slightly unbalanced. --- Beer merged from original tick of Endless Bummer BA Tokaji on 29 Sep 2018 at 18:26 - Score: 7. Original review text: Murky golden. Sweetish. At Hopishop 2017. Aroma of raisin, malt and barf. Taste of white wine, sake yeast, rice, malt, peach and some cloying note I can't place. Weird, but not bad if sipped in a small quantity.

Craft Islington bottle share. Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Light smooth malts, some silky malt cream. Trace of bitterish wood. Nice dessert winey sweet fruits, Mild spice. Light finish. Nice Tokaji character here and it doesn’t drink like 13.0%.

Keg at Mikkeller Bar, Stockholm. Cloudy pale amber, no head. Honey, sweet wite wine and lemon up front. Sweet with distinct vinegar tartness. Medium-full bodied with clean, rounded mouthfeel. Tokaji Ászu shines through, in all its glory. Honey, hay and vinegar is there too. Low bitterness. Packed with delicious flavours, although not everything fit harmoniously together.

Bottle at Craft Islington, thanks to Kenny! It pours hazy golden - amber with a thick white head. The aroma is estery, funky, musty, sticky, sweet candied fruits, apricot, sticky peach, honey and caramel. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, sweet - sour, apricot, peach, gooseberry, lemon, citric acidity, earth. funk and vanilla oak with warming alcohol through the finish. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. Playful. I rather enjoy the sweet - sour balance. Good fun.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Kenny. Pours mostly clear gold with a creamy, white head. Bready malts in the nose, apple sauce, white grape. Big sweet flavour, chewy, with more stewed apples, alcohol, a little woody dryness, pears. Full bodied with average carbonation. Warm to hot finish with more pale wood, ripe apples, tangerine, melon, jammy citrus. Fun stuff, but quite hefty.
