Maybe no one believed you the last time you encountered the stellar contact between hop and roasty malt character, but succumb to a new stout trek. The imperial strikes back with a fuller body and U-F-Ohhhh so many hops. Set your phasers to stunning - because this is the most out of htis world hopped up stout on earth.

Bottle shared at the 2015 edition of the chriso Pre-GBBF tasting - London. Cheers! Pours black-brown with a creamy, beige head. Lots of dark malts in the nose, chocolate. Medium sweet flavour with ashy roast, chocolate, scorched earth. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish, with lightly sticky chocolate, hard roast. Very good stuff.

Bottle at Pre-GBBF Shindig 2015. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The nose is rich roast, charred wood, chocolate cake, vanilla and bounty bar. The nose is bitter, big roasted malt, toasty, coffee, a touch of acidity upfront, berry skin, wood, leather, spice and a fair bit ash. Medium - full body and moderate carbonation. It doesn’t blow me away, but ’tis fine.
