Bottle shared with my brother. An interesting impy - you get the dark malt character, but the brandy barrels quickly are rather dominant. Interesting stuff, definitely very tasty.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Oily black brown beer, tiny bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, slightly viscous, reasonable fine carbonation suits this Impy. Soft dark chocolate streaked malts, a little chocolate syrup. The apple and apricot brandy barrels deliver a rich fruit liqueur flavour that blends pretty well with the chocolate. The apricot brandy has the better legs and its rich boozy ripe apricot dominates the smooth and mildly spicy finish. Nice. An elegant Impy and a nice touch of double barrelling.

Flavour is composed of medium sweet, sticky brown sugars, woody bark, woody cinnamon, some rounding tonka and vanilla, Warming alcohol in the finish. Lingering bitter dark chocolate. Nice.

Bottle at home, from Cloudwater online, 23/12/24. Pitch black topped with a tan cap that dissipates to a swirl and edgework over time. Nose is rich roast, decadent chocolate, brandy nip, brown sugar melt, coffee tinged, booze tunes. Taste comprises roasted tones, chocolate pot, fruit cake mix, warming brandy nip, spice, molasses, toffee melt, hint of coffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid BA affair ... you can certainly pick out the Brandy as opposed to 'generic barrel' which can sometimes be the case with a Brandy affair!
