Handpull cask at the White Lion, Upton upon Severn. Light gold and clear with a ring of white head Grainy aroma, some grassy character. Sweet with a fry English hop hitternesa in the finish. Hint of clotted cream. Medicinal finish. OK.

Bottle from Melbicks Garden Centre, Coleshill. Light misted dark gold with small white top. Aroma has notes of citrus, hay and floral notes. Taste has a citrus and dough, with some hop spice and a good floral bitter finish. More interesting then your average golden ale.

Cask at the Queens Head, Stow On The Wold, 23/11/24. Golden blonde topped with a lasting just off white head. Nose is straw, grains, herb, crackers, mellow fruit esters. Taste comprises grains, pale malts, faint bready notes, hint of honey, hedgerow. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. So so cask affair ... all a bit bland.

Cask @ The Plough Inn, Ford. Pours an almost clear golden/amber colour with a thin white head. Aromas of subtle citrus notes with a touch of floral. Taste has more notes of citrus and floral with just the right amount of bitterness on the finish. Fresh and very good.

Cask @ George IV Inn, Aldwych, London. Mildly hazed golden ale with a small head. Has a light pale ale character, it’s nothing that special but enough enough to drink with a dryness.

Bottle from Budgens, Broadway. Deep gold with a thin white head. Nice rich mouthfeel. Straw then a malt-oriented taste with lemon behind. Despite the golden hue, this is determinedly traditional... and none the worse for it. A solid golden bitter.
