Bottle shared at the 2015 edition of the chriso Pre-GBBF tasting - London. Cheers! Pours cloudy gold with a foamy, white head. Jammy citrus in the nose, assorted berries - strawberry, cranberry, raspberry. Light to medium sweet flavour, with jammy fruits, bread, faint yeast, berries. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, with more bready and fruity character. Nice beer.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in Fall 2014. Pours slightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big lightly tart cranberry, lemon, orange zest, pear, apricot, apple, white grape, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, bread dough, hay, straw, herbal, grass, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, cranberries, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart cranberry, lemon, orange zest, pear, apricot, apple, white grape, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, bread dough, hay, straw, herbal, grass, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Moderate earthy yeast spiciness and light fruit tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of cranberry, lemon, orange zest, pear, apricot, apple, white grape, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, bread dough, hay, straw, herbal, grass, light funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cranberries, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast spiciness/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from carbonation and yeast spiciness as well. High carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly grainy/bready/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent fruited saison! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, cranberries, and bready malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2015. It pours cloudy amber with a rose hue and thick off-white head. The nose is soft, juicy, cranberry, raspberry, dough, grass and peppercorn. The taste is crisp, tart, sherbet, raspberry, dried cranberry, minerals, dough, grass and light jam with a crisp, juicy finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Easy-going and quaffable. Works for me.

Pre GBBF tasting at Chris and Ruth’s. Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and mildly dry. Reasonable fine carbonation. Very light malts, quite sweet and tripel like. Touches of sweet generic fruits and citrus. Trace of sour cherry. Tangy semi dry finish. Not bad.
