Bottle thanks to Ken. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is varnish, lemony sherbet, grapefruit, roasted malt, cocoa and light caramel. The taste is crisp, bitter, rich roast, earth, cocoa, grapefruit rind, lemon rind, pepper, dark chocolate and light alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Nice bitterness. Surprisingly good.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to the CDA champ, Mitch. Pours unclear brown with a creamy tan head. Good aroma, some toasted herbs and flowers, a bit of grapefruit, roast. Medium sweet flavor with rindy citrus, so,e dirt, cocoa, orange. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Nicely balanced on the finish with further rindy bitterness, lightly juicy orange and grapefruit, burnt toast, earth. Solid.

Cask @ Shrewsbury Beer Festival, Nov 14. Pours black with beige head. A nice helping of roasted malts with a little pine to ease out the bitterness. Decent CDA.

500ml Bottle - Dark brown, almost black, with a foamy head. Liquorice, pine and roasted malt in the aroma. Liquorice, plain chocolate, roasted malt and some soapy hops in the taste. Roasted notes linger in the finish.
