Sweet malt and our special U.S. craft yeast give a crisp, clean, fresh base for the hops to come. Then richness comes from the underlying alcohol warmth and complex citrus, tropical fruits, spice and resin.
Lots of maltiness, but always well balanced.

Cask at the Vicky Spoons - London. Pours clear gold with a foamy, white head. The nose has ripe citrus and pale bread. Medium sweet with further ripe citrus, orange, light bitter rind and grass, some white bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Pretty good condition. Lightly resinous to finish, some sticky pine and ripe citrus, further rindy bitterness and pale bread. Not bad, really, though could use some refining.

Cask at the moon under water JDW Watford. Hazed light golden colour with a stodgy white head. Aroma is tangerine orange, straw and some lemon hop. Flavour is assertive orange zest bitterness. Grainy malts with some sweetness. Some peppercorn. Medium light palate with some residual sweetness. Hops aren’t that fresh like other london IPAs.

Cask at Victoria Station Spooneria, 23/12/13. Lightly hazed golden with a good sized white head. Nose is orange, straw, peachy tones, apricot jam, toasted malts. Taste comprises orange pith, mango, light grapefruit, toasted malts. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry grassy hop bitterness in the finale. Decent enough IPA but perhaps lacks a little punch for the ABV, pleasant enough though.

Cask handpull at Willow Walk Spoons Victoria. Hazy amber lasting white head. Pretty decent British ipa. Some peach apricot. Good hop sting on the finish. Some decent fruit. Full without being syrupy. Impressive.

Cask at The Clachan. It pours dirty orange with a small white head. The nose is orange squash, passion fruit, marmalade, pepper, sweet plastic, ginger and hay. The taste is bitter, juicy orange, tangerine, passion fruit, resin, peppery bite and some alcohol with a bitter, citric finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A big, bold beer from Portobello. Thankfully not cloying as many cask IPAs are. Really enjoyable citrus character and bitter bite.
