Bottle. Pours opaque dark brown almost black with huge might brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, soy sauce, licorice mints and hints of caned pineapple. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter, light to medium salty and light acidic. Body is light creamy with fizzy carbonation. Finish is long and mostly bitter with notes of roasted malt, coffee, juniper, licorice mints, pineapple, prunes, soy sauce and ammonium chloride. Very rich and nice complexity.

Bottle, 7%. Dark brown with medium beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, berries and a little bread. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, bread , berries, medium sweet, little thin?, little harsh and medium bitter.

Bottle shared at Chris and Ruth’s pre-GBBF tasting 2015 - London. Pours clear red-brown with a creamy tan head. The nose has some roots and earth, toasty bread. Light sweet flavor, a little roasty, with ashy earth bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dry and earthy on the finish, with light chocolate and dried berries. OK.

Bottle @ Home. Pours dark brown with a creamy light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, herbs. Flavor is light sweet, malty, caramel, cocoa, herbs. Medium body, light oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. 300815

Bottle@Chris and Ruth’s Pre-GBBF 2015, London - dark brown pour with beige head. Roasted malty aroma and taste with prominent chocolate, caramel, vanilla, some grassy and herbal hoppy notes, pretty basic affair.

Bottle at Chris & Ruth’s pre-GBBF shindig, 2015. Brown pour no head. Sweet spice and caramel aroma. Spicy-fruit and toffee flavour. Hmm.

Bottle at ChrisOs Pre-GBBF. It pours clear deep brown with a thick beige head. The nose is earthy roast, peppery spice, berry, twig, dirt and spice. The taste is soft, earthy roast, charred stuff, quite spicy, pepper and berry with a dry finish. Light - medium body and moderate foamy carbonation. Quite peppery. A bit light, but ok.

Pre GBBF tasting as Chris and Ruth’s. Clear amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is airy and dry. Thin dark malts with dry roast. Mild tang. Dry finish. Dull.

Bottle. Creamy White good mostly lasting head. Dark red amber colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma-. Moderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate. juniberry very slightly present.

Bottle at Chris & Ruth’s pre GBBF shindig; mahogany brown pour with a thin beige head, aroma has dark fruits plus some herbal action, taste has bay leaves plus some juniper berries and light smoke.
