The brett hasn’t made this a sour beer, it’s rounded off, given a great aroma, with a sweet cherry pie flavour. The mouthfeel is moderately carbonated, prickly and very drinkable.

Bottle. A black one, topped by a dense, tan head. The aroma is rather roasted and licorice-ish, with leather, dark chocolate and coffee, cocoa and lemonish brett. Chocolate, coffee and some dried fruits in the back of the flavor, with bitterness, leathery and citrusy funk. Some alcohol. Lasting finish with lots of licorice. A nice one indeed, but a bit weird in a way. Quite complex, still not a favorite. 150711

Bouteille 33cl merci à Pierre. BB 06/2033.

Bottle from the brewery and drunk at home. Black beer lasting tan head. Bretty aroma. Some choc some tar some molasses then a lot of dry brett. Hides abv well. It’s likeable to me. some milkiness. I like the dark choc and a little bit of espresso coffee. Brett is good. I liked the mix of dark choc and brett. Good. Re-rate 2016. Manure on the aroma. The Brett has woken up and is frankly fantastic. then a dry stout. I had 2 bottles in the festival and they were both great, best beer of the day by far.

Bottle, courtesy of Noize, thanks! Bottle date june 2013. Black coloured with a light brown head. Nose is initially roasted malts and chocolate, immediately followed by brett, manure, musty. Interesting. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, brett, horseblanket, farmyard. Develops in a roasted, very bitter drink, towards being gritty. Finish is fairly bitter.

21/03/2014 330ml bottle (thanks Theydon_Bois!). Nera, densa, impenetrabile, schiuma beige-cappuccino media. Al naso sentori di malti tostati, bretta molto percettibile (cuoio, formaggio). In bocca è grezza e non perfettamente bilanciata, tostato, legno, confusa e slegata nelle sue componenti. Corpo pieno, carbonazione medio-bassa. Deludente.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of brett funk, yeasty and a little cheesy. Taste has chocolate, but mostly brett. Finishes thin. Would like to try the base beer to see what the brett has taken away.
