11th May 2019.
Semi opaque dark brown beer, a few lonely tan bubbles. Smooth light palate, very modest carbonation, no surprise as the bottle opened silently. Fruity bourbon dominates here, smooth but slightly spicy and with a touch of wet wood, well buried. Mild dark chocolate cream underneath. Soft spicy finish leaves a tingling bourbon linger. Great BBA Impy flavours but the palate lets it down, it is 7 years old mind and shows no sign of oxidisation. Impressive.

6th Nov 2018. 330ml bottle: BB 17th Jun 2033. Poured into a Gordon Thistle shaped glass at home. Black and very dark, no head, just a semi-collar of not much! The aroma is boozy, with a definite Bourbon leaning, taste also has a Bourbon feel , really malty brew and pretty sweet from start to finish. Really nice beer (I do have a sweet tooth).

Bottle. Black in the glass, more or less headless. Quite boozy aroma, but in a nice way. Caramel, licorice and chocolate, coconut and vanilla from the spirit, and some roasted, almost burnt malts. It’s sweet on the palate, full-bodied and smooth, with some warmth. There’s licorice, dark sugar, caramel and some bonfire in the flavor. Bitterness, coconut and vanilla. Lasting finish. A very nice one, blending the spirit and beer in a very nice way. 150711
