Tap at cask days 2018. Dark brown pour, with a medium off white head. Aroma is woody, earthy, lots of barrel notes, and some tart berries. Mouth feel is full, carb is very active. Finish is tart, raspberry gets lost in the sweet cereals, and the earthy barrel. Light vinous notes, and a light sweet finish.

Poured bottle at BeerGek Bar 9th anniversary. Cloudy, copper colored. AROMA- raspberry and classic Flanders red aromas. FLAVOR- dry, sour and tart, nice classic flavors with fresh raspberries. Medium bodied. Very nice.

Bottle, 75cl corked. A lightly unclear brown beer with a minimal sized beige head. Lots of dried fruits in the aroma, prunes and raisin, with hints of vinegar and lots of raspberry. Some wood and funk. It's full-bodied, faintly warming and smooth on the palate, with lots of dried fruits in the flavor. Vinegar, wood, raisin, prunes and shitloads of raspberry in the flavor. Quite delicious, but perhaps a bit strong on the vinegar. 210130

Bottle at home. Harvest 2017. The colour is deep reddish brown with a small beige head . Aroma of oak, balsamico vinegar, forest floor, brown sugar, dates, black currants and cherries. Sour flavour of oak, vinegar, lemon juice and red currants. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. Really interesting and complex aroma. The flavour is a bit unbalanced and too sour in my opinion, and malt are falling behind. Maybe a year or two more in cellar would tame this ale more.

Bottle. Pours clear mahogany with a medium kinda fizzy tan head that dissipates to a ring and some lacing. Aroma is raspberry, tannic, oak, roast, more raspberries, bugs, farmhouse, must. Flavor is light plus tart, light plus funk, loads of raspberries and leathery tannins punctuated by notes of musty basement. Medium body, bubbly carbonation. Quite nice. One of my favorite dark sours to date, methinks.

2017 750ml bottle.

It pours a really dark reddish brown with plenty of off white foam and lacing.

Big blast of tart raspberries as soon as I removed the cork, bigger when I hold up the glass to my nose. Lots of funky oaky notes...smells grand.

I taste tart raspberries but also, if I am not mistaken, sour cherries as well. Very good oak presence and some funk. Maybe some lemon too.

Medium light body with spritzy carbonation.

Pretty fine brew here.

Tap. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Dirty looking, deep, red brown. Slim halo of dense, beige head. Nose has raspberry jam. Fresh, ripe raspberry. Dark cherry chocolate. Vanilla. Old oak. Taste is jammy sweet, for an instant, turning super tart, and dry as a bone. Sharp and cleansing on the palate. Crisp carbonation. Tart raspberry to finish, with a drying close. Very nice.
