As the name suggests, an extremely smooth, lightly hopped 4% pale ale. A blend of four quality malts delivers a well balanced body and copper colour. An aroma of soft fruit and honey and balanced bitterness are provided by additions of English hops at four different stages of brewing.

Cask at Rampant Horse, Needham Market. Nil aroma, perhaps a floral strand. Dark gold. Insubstantial white head. Light bitter. Quite flowery but let down by underlying boiled veg. Light bodied. Watery. Flat carbonation. Long astringent finish. Bland watery take on an APA.

Cask at Chippenham Beer Festival. Nice clear copper colour. Like walking down a shady green leafy lane with lemons hanging from the bushes. Pleasant enough bitter.

Cask at the Grain & Hop Store, Cambridge. Dark gold with a modicum of filmy white head. Hmmmm... doesn’t smell too hoppy for the name, mostly breach malt with hints of grass. Sweet taste, not terribly engaging, with a bitter/sour note at the end. Surprisingly dry finish. Can’t get hugely excited about it but at least it’s well made.

Burnley Beer Festival 2015. Clear copper-gold. Has an easy drinking character with grainy-malts abundant. There’s a mild sweetness in its nose.
