Can from Appellation Wines. Appearance - hazy golden yellow with a thin wispy head. Nose - lemon and really fresh basil leaf. Some candied citrus and light spice too. Taste - more lemon than basil this time. Still some herbs though not as easy to tell it's basil. Palate - light bodied. zesty and slightly funky finish. Overall - good.

Tap. Pivni, York. Hazy, pale gold. Film of sticky, white head. Nose has bready malts. Soapy basil notes, like basil that is old and gone a bit aniseed. Creamy sorachi. Some citrus. Taste is light sour. Some sticky sweetness. Fairly full bodied, probably partly down to the fact it’s not served cold enough. More soapy sweetness on the finish, with a dry and bitter close.

Bottle shared at Craft Islington. It pours hazy golden - amber with a thick white head. The aroma is soft, fresh, herbal big basil character, touch of funk, bread, zingy citrus and spice. The taste is crisp, tart, fresh, minerals, white bread, lemon - lime peel, grapefruit, sherbet, touch of basil and mild acidity with a dry, citrusy finish. Medium body and moderate + foamy carbonation. A touch soapy perhaps, but overall not bad.

Hazy golden beer with a distinct basil/herb aroma, with just a dash of lemon cutting through it. Flavour reverses that a bit. There’s more prominence to the hop and citrus in the flavour but there’s still a herby dryness to it and it has a strong savoury quality to it. I’m not sure how to rate this one. I can’t lie and say I’d rush back for more but I’m really pleased to have tried it. Odd one though. This might match perfectly with some food but I’m not sure if I’d ever fancy it other than that.

Hazy gold beer, decent off white head. Palate is light, semi dry and has a fine crispness. Mild seltzer. Does what it says on the tin - pleasingly lemon, not too sharp. Fruity basil, just a trace of herb. Citic dry finish with a mild lemony bitter linger. Nicely done if a tad dry.
