PINTA Modern Drinking, czyli wszystko, czego nauczyliśmy się na temat klasycznego West Coast IPA. Tylko jeden, ale za to bardzo charakterystyczny chmiel – Mosaic® – dodany w ogromnej ilości na ostatnie minuty gotowania oraz na czas leżakowania piwa. PINTA Modern Drinking – zawsze na czasie!

Süffiger, weich grasig-herber Beginn. Geringe Bitterkeit, natürlich hopfig, kernig, sehr süffig bleibend. Spritzig, konstant grasig, weicher herber Abgang. Gut ausbalanciert, langer Nachhall, gut. 9/12/12/12/8/12

Même si on aurait apprécié une amertume un peu plus vive et saillante pour un West Coast IPA un peu plus de caractère, cette Modern Drinking est très agréable et jouit d'arômes plaisants autour des herbes, du résineux, de la pèche, de l'orange et pamplemousse. La base maltée est de surcroît appréciable et accompagne bien l'amertume. L'alcool, quant à lui, avec ses 6,5 est limite et aurait mérité d'être un peu boosté. Finalement ce serait peut-être la base maltée qui est trop présente pour l'amertume et l'alcool. En verre, nous sommes sur un blond orangé quasi limpide sans mousse. Le nez est agréable sur une dominante résineux, mangue, pêche, orange et pamplemousse. A l'attaque, les herbes sont bien présentes et prennent l'ascendant. L'amertume a du mal à ressortir par rapport à la base maltée. Elle s'y efforce en seconde bouche, sans réellement y parvenir. Un léger poivre est également présent. L’arrière-bouche est un peu plus tranchante mais le final tranquilou, manque de vivacité. Manque de tempérament.

Bottle picked up from Κάβα Οινομάθεια or in English Oinomathia Cellar a wine shop that has a great selection of beers in Volos. Had this at Camping New Triton, Drepano Beach about 12 km south of Nafplio, Sunday 29th August after a long drive 260km from Delphi. Pours gold, almost clear, sticky, clinging white head, bitter, fruity mostly a squidgy orange flavour, some sweetness, mosaic hops doing a good job. It's a great beer.

W aromacie cytrusy, białe owoce, pomelo, limonka. czuć typowy aromat mosaica. W smaku przyjemne, chmielowe, białe owoce, cytrusy, nafta. Jest wytrawnie, ale nie do bólu. Goryczka średnia do niskiej. Wysycenie niskie. Pite tyle razy, dopiero ocenione :)

330ml bottle from Beer52: 6.5% ABV, BBD 3rd Nov 2021. Drank at home on 18th Dec 2020. Slight haze to the golden pour, white topping. Huge Citrus kick in the nose and taste, Mosaic hops doing their stuff.
