Classic amber ale with a strong infusion of Fuggles and Styrian Goldings hops specifically for the North Eastern palate to balance the best quality Maris Otter and crystal malts base. Good hoppy nose and biscuity body. An all day "session" ale if ever there was one.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’14, day 1, 02/12/14. Lightly hazed golden with a moderate off white cover. Nose is thin, straw, pale malt, caramel. Taste comprises straw, malt, faint citric rinds, grain. Medium body, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light bitterness. So so, bland affair, more golden blonde leanings than a bitter for me.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Hazy amber beer, small off white head. Light palate with good fine carbonation. Clean malts bring light sweetness. Decent dried fruits and bitter floral hops. Light semi dry finish. Hangs together well and nicely balanced.

Cask pint: hand-pulled on 24th Oct 2014 in the lovely Castle Hotel, Bamburgh Northumberland. Good looking beer, true amber body with a full head. Pleasant blend of aromas and taste with equal strengths of light maltiness and slightly bittering hops. Went very well with the hot Chicken Balti than I had for lunch.
