Keg at the brewpub in Milan. A bloody half pint. A hazed orange golden coloured pour with a big ol frothy white head. Aroma is decent canned tropical fruits, pineapple and mango, raw grains and a rough grassy hop. Flavour is composed raw grains, husks, muddled hop character, some mango and tangerine. Assertive dirty pine hop bitterness. A little hot alcohol in the finish. Palate is grainy, moderate carbonation. Decent enough.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Nr Gent, Belgie, consumed at Camping Trois Château Eguisheim, Alsace, France, Tuesday 21st June 2016 the Summer Solstice, whilst cooking Alsace Gnocchi. Pours cloudy yellow gold with a white foamy fast disappearing head. Wow this is a fruity number. Lots of juicy sweet oranges leap forth but on a substantial malty base, it’s quite a potent beast. Good bittersweet balance, actually the bitterness is quite evident, I like this it is a thrusty, fruity, decent buzzy bitter DIPA. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Clear gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is crisp, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Very light malts with a touch of creamy sweetness. Spicy orange and dried fruits. Bitterish floralness. Creamy sweetness comes back before a light semi dry finish. DIPA? Mmm. Not bad though.

At Le Trappiste. Medium thick, lacing, off-white head, hazy orange blonde robe. Aroma of lychee, strawberry, peach, fermenting hay, orange, white pepper, gooseberry, pineapple and a whiff of ’hoppy urine’. Crisp fruity onset, pineapple, mango and gooseberry notes, softish carbo, caramelly malt body, bittersweet toasted edge, long, peppery, citrus peel-like, resinous hop finish, aromatic and bittering. Nice.
