Sherry barrel aged limited version of Pime Öö.
Taste: Big and bold, this immediately makes the Pedro Ximenez felt. Luxuriously sweet, with a heavy presence of cherry and chocolate. The raisin character from the aroma comes through again, sliding down the tongue smoothly. Best enjoyed when sipped by a fireplace.
Appearance: Jet black with a brief ruby tinted light brown head.
Nose: The smell of dates, raisins, cranberries, and above all, sherry overwhelm the room. Blackcurrant jam, smooth chocolate, and a light toasted oak character come through later, whilst sweet malts and a hint of alcohol closes the aroma.
Malts: Pale malt, Munich malt, Special B, Crystal 300, Crystal 150, Crystal 200, Carafa type 2 special, Chocolate malt, Chocolate Rye, Oats
Hops: Magnum, Northern Brewer

Bottle shared at Borrie’s curry tasting. Black with small dark brown head. Massive sweet sherry, raisins, alcohol, milk chocolate, earthy, honeyed nuts, grass, cocoa nibs. Very very sweet but there’s also a sharp medium bitterness. Full bodied with very low carbonation. It’s nice but also super sweet.

Bottle split at L42, thanks to A Tipple, 26/07/17. Pitch black with a moderate tan head that dissipates to nyadda. Nose is rich roast, tobacco, spice, toffee, dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises prunes, dates, sweet notes, fruit cake, sultanas, mellow sherry barrel, light spice, sticky toffee pudding. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sweet licks in a rising boosty close. Decent enough impy if a little hot and sweet in places ... lacks overall cohesion.

Bottle at L42, thanks to Adrian. It pours jet black with a small beige head. The aroma is soft, rich, sweet, juicy fruits, loads of jam coming from the PX barrel, vimto, candy, fruit syrup and dark roast. The taste is slick, intense sweetness, juicy, very jammy, fortified wine, plenty of berry, warming booze, chocolate cake and candy with a sweet and jammy finish. Full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth – feel. Jammy and overly sweet. Definitely a dessert beer, thanks for sure! As with the other version of this it is just too sweet for my tastes, but I can understand why others would like it.

Bottle shared on Level 42 26/07/2017. Many thanks to Adrian Tipple for this one. A jet black coloured pour with a halo of dark chocolate, dark fruit, blackberry, coco, rich chocolate, boozy. Flavour is composed of super sweet, dark choc, berries, cranberry. . Palate is oily super sweet, paint. Harsh alcohol. Super sweet.

Malty, alcohol, wood scent. Sweet, malty, chocolate, alcohol taste. Warming alcohol. Sweet, alcohol aftertaste. Full mouthfeel, medium bitterness.6/4/7/4/14=3.5

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Mr. tipple. Pours oily black with a bubbly, tan head. Lots of wood in the aroma, some tangy leather, old berries, earth. Big sweet flavour with notes of dried cherries, gooey chocolate, low bitterness, brown sugar, toffee. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, really sticky, gooey, lots of dried berries, more toffee and brown sugar. Aggressively sweet. But as with other beers tonight, this is a nice beer in small doses.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Speakeasy, 20170722) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had sweetness, burnt malts and vanilla. Palate was full bodied and oily with medium carbonation. Flavours were vanilla, vineousness, burnt malts, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A very sweet brew.
