A very dark and complex, fully rounded ale. Port wine flavours with treacle, molasses, smoke, dark chocolate and coffee, leads to a dry hop finish.

Clear, dark chestnut brown. Thin, tan head. Nose has port wine. Rich malts. Raisins and nuts. Some sweet dates. Taste is smooth, sweet and nutty. Smooth mouthfeel. Nice and silky. Long, rich, fruity, light bitter finish. Very nice. Beer of the festival for me, I reckon.

Cask at NWAF, Derby, Thursday, 18th February 2016 A little bit of Oxo on the nose, but sweetish wafts notes. A little meaty and certainly malty, some coffee, but big malt mostly, I didn?t mind this. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
