Clear, dark chestnut brown. Thin, tan head. Nose has port wine. Rich malts. Raisins and nuts. Some sweet dates. Taste is smooth, sweet and nutty. Smooth mouthfeel. Nice and silky. Long, rich, fruity, light bitter finish. Very nice. Beer of the festival for me, I reckon.

Cask at the Rail Ale Festival Chesterfield, 2016. Poured a clear dark brown with little life. The aroma is sweet sugary malt. The flavour is moderate bitter sweet with a fruity chocolate light dry coffee palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at NWAF, Derby, Thursday, 18th February 2016 A little bit of Oxo on the nose, but sweetish wafts notes. A little meaty and certainly malty, some coffee, but big malt mostly, I didn?t mind this. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Chelmsford Summer Beer Fest. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Marmite and bitter licorice contrast with sweetish dark malts and lactose. Molasses before the dry finish. Thick sticky malts!
