(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 27 Nov 2014) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with grass, citrus and a touch of toast. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grass, grapefruit, resin and a generous grassy bitterness (almost leaning in the Czech pilsener style) in a dry finish. Medium body, quite dry. Refreshing and tasty. Nice one.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2014. It pours clear golden with a foamy white head. The nose is sweet, oily, orange, mandarin, spicy edge, toasted oats, melon and apple. The taste is bitter, lemon, grapefruit, rather soapy, oily, grainy, toast, earth, pepper, spice, grass and light astringency with a soapy finish. Medium body and low carbonation. Far too soapy for my liking.
