Bottle from John’s Wine & Spirits, St Ives. Orangey-amber with a thin cream head and a moderate fizz. Spice and burnt orange peel and toffee, like a Christmas cake that’s been left in the oven for too long. A lot of dirty, dusty hop notes, as if the sadly abused cake had yhen been dropped on the floor and kicked into a long-unwashed corner. I did grow to dislike it less the more I drank, but was still not a fan, although oddly the last bit went surprisingly well with a chilli.

5th July 2015
Hazy deep amber beer, thin cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry with mild fine carbonation. Spicy tangy malts, little unsweet caramel toffee. Over ripe orange. Mild floral sweetness. Little orange peel. Dry finish. Thought this might be an old beer but with a BBE of Jan 2016, not so, just a bit hop light.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; clear light copper pout with a thin white head, grain and smoke aroma, taste has biscuity malts, light tangerine action, along with some caramel, hint of bitter in the finish.

Bottle. Mitchell’s Wines, Sheffield. Same branding as the 5% Rye PA. I dunno? Can’t say I’m too bothered, either. No condition. Murky. Overly sweet. No hop. Very little spice. Not good.
