Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 09/07/22. Light black with a good sized lasting khaki head. Nose is mellow roast, cocoa powder, charr, dried fruit rinds, brown sugar dusting. Taste comprises ashen tones, charr, cocoa sprinkle, toffee, biscuit, raisins. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation - over carbed for me lose a point, semi drying close. Ok porter let down largely by its over carbed nature.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby Pours very dark reddish-brown with a small cream head. Absolutely oozes chocolate in the nose – roast malts there as well. Chocolate again dominant in the mouth, along with a good helping of dark fruits. Plus liquorice and a hint of orange peel. Chocolate in the finish along with some hops. I really like this – very easy drinking for its strength.
