One of our core ales, BOB (Bexley’s Own Beer) is a deliciously smooth pale ale. This ale is made with a combination of Crystal malts together with UK and New World hops, giving a floral aroma with a well balanced flavour of gentle bittering and a lingering subtle sweetness.

Håndpumpethalf pint på King’s Arms, Waterloo (London): klar gylden med kort skum. Frisk og syrlig med røde epler og citrus, forsiktig karbonering gir en myk munnfølelse. Balansert og lettdrikkelig.

500ml bottle from Beers of Europe. Pours clear amber, thin off-white head. Aromas of crystal malt up front, burnt sugar, light fruit, dried peel. Taste is honey sweet, faint bitterness at the back. Cleans up on the finish. Probably better on cask.

Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with a bit more plastic, bitter rind, faint pine, bread. So so.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’14, day 1, 02/12/14. Clear golden amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is caramel malt, fruit rinds, sweet notes, light plastic. Taste is rather muted, fruit notes, light chemical wash, dull. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Nicht Gut !

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2014. It pours clear amber with a small beige head. The nose is sweet, toasty, butterscotch, toffee and caramelised nuts. The taste is toasty, grainy, earth, spice, cocoa, honey, crystal malt, cereal and some sort of astringent edge with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A touch off. Not sold on this one, I blame the crystal...
