Can at home. Aroma is strong liquorice, roasted malt, cocoa, caramel, dark chocolate, coffee, hint of dark fruits Flavour is about medium sweet and moderate roasty bitter. Body is medium. Pretty good Oatmeal Stout, just a bit heavy on the liquorice for my taste.

Backlog June 2017. Black body under a small beige head. Aroma has roasted dark malt, coffee and hint of chocolate. Taste similar to aroma, rather burnt in aftertaste. Nice but quite one-dimensional.

On tap at BrewDog Outpost Manchester. Very dark brown, barely black. Ring of tan head. Creamy atoma, some chocolate, some weak Robusta coffee. Sweet taste at first with bitter hops kicking in for the second half of the sip. Aftertaste of plum, coffee grounds, ash. Very heavily carbonated. Nice one.

Tap @ Mikkeller Bar Aarhus. Pours pitch black with a medium brown head. Aromas of cocoa, oats, roasty, dry, light coffee and some sweet dark fruits. Taste is dry, roasty, cocoa, dark chocolate, malty, light coffee, bitter, almost burned toast in the end. I dig this! Nice.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 6/2016. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky tan head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted oats, biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, brown sugar, fruity yeast, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted oats, biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, woody, spicy, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted oats, biscuit, dark bread/crust, licorice, dark fruits, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, wood, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, brown sugar, fruity yeast, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/roast bitterness. Medium-plus carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.7%. Overall this is a very nice oatmeal stout. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, brown sugar, fruity yeast, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly bitter/drying finish; great soft/silky feel. Getting a little too melanoidin from the age, but held up well. Great balance of super rich malts/oats, brown sugar, and fruity English yeast; with solid earthy hop presence. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

Creamy light brown head stayed well on a jet black still body. Dark berry, hints of smoke, oats & dark chocolate aroma. Medium bodied, velvety to the front with a tingly dry back. Malt, berries, smoke, burnt, pith & citrus tastes with a bitter tangy finish

Aromas are roast black patent molasses. Flavors are bittersweet a little bit of medicinal, long bitter finish. This is by far 18th street's best beer. Do pick up a little bit of the oatmeal in the body giving some slickness.

Pour is a midnight black with a large milky tan head. Aroma is some roasted oat char with some bakers chocolate and marshmallow. Flavor is a super bitter dark chocolate with some full on burnt oat. Finish almost has a bit of cherry tartness. Pretty darn flavorful. This is listed as a sweet stout but I found this fairly dry and bitter.
