50 cl bottle at a Spanish bar while watching the champions league match Real-Wolfsburg. Not too keen on drinking a doppelbock but that was the only beer available.Caramel, malt and dried fruits flavour.

Copper pour, small it a small off white head. Toasted malts, sweet malts, sticky and sweet. Bready and slightly nutty, with a full mouth feel and slightly oily. Medium bitterness, very malty, light hops.

bottiglia 33 cl, schiuma nocciola evanescente, colore rubino marrone velato, al naso miele di castagno malto tostato zucchero di canna frutta matura, in bocca malto castagne miele frutta secca fichi secchi uvetta zucchero bruciato, corpo medio/leggero, watery, carbonazione moderata, dolce con amaro accentuato. Bottled. Copper colour, mediumsized longlasting off-white head. Aroma is sugar, some floral, citrus and some mild toffee to it. Flavour is sugars, some toffee, mild caramel, bready notes as well as a slight bit of alcohol. Warming, thick and tasty.

Die Optik zeigt sich sehr kräftig und dunkel rubinrot bis rotbronze. Die mittelporige, beige-braune Schaumkrone wirkt wässerig-flaumig und hält ziemlich gut. Die Duftaromatik wirkt holzig-würzig, süß, hat leicht röstige Anklänge von dunkler Schokolade und führt satte Noten von Rotweinlikör, Dörrobst (Kirsche, Zwetschge, Feige), Kirschlikör und Sherry/Portwein mit sich. Der Antrunk kommt feinrezent und süßlich-röstig bis leicht herb. Am Gaumen macht sich ein süßlicher Körper aus malzigen und fruchtigen Noten breit. Karamellige bis röstige Aromen vereinen sich mit fruchtigen Noten von Kirsche, Zwetschge und leichtem Dörrobst und im Hintergrund schwingt eine zarte, holzige Würze mit. So ergibt sich ein schönes und vielfältiges Gesamtbild, ohne dabei zu komplex zu werden. Mundgefühl und Süffigkeit sind absolut gut und dieser Doppelbock bleibt überraschend leichtgängig und absolut angenehm. Im Nachtrunk baut die malzige und fruchtige Aromatik leider etwas zu rasch ab und eine leicht trockene Hopfenherbe setzt den Schlusspunkt. Mein Fazit: Sicher nicht das allerhöchste der Gefühle, aber dennoch ein sehr guter Doppelbock!

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, reddish brown with a beige head. Lovely overripe fruit, caramel and molasses nose. Rich and chewy body, faint roast and burned caramel. Just sufficient bitterness. Excellent Doppelbock. 240123

Kalea-Bieradventskalender 05.12.2022 (Craftbier-Version) Zum Krampustag kommt heuer der Sündenbock, einem Wanderpokal, der jedes Jahr von einer anderen Brauerei gebraut wird, und ich ganz passend finde. Es ist ein intnsiver Bock: in der dunkelroten Farbe als auch im schweren malzig-süßen Geschmack, der ordentlich Trockenfruchtnoten hat gepaart mit einem apfeligen Abgang. Ein Bock, der so fein komponiert ist, dass man ihn auch als jemand trineken kann, der kein Bockbierfreund ist.

Bottle picked up from V-Markt, Mainburg and consumed at home Attenkirchen, Friday 26th April 2019 whilst making Pistachio and Yoghurt Chicken Curry, Tarka Dhal and Loz is making a Special Rice, listening to Steve Lamaq on 6 Music. Pours chestnut in colour with an off white head, a ruby glint shines through. The aroma is a touch of tart toffee but mostly malt driven. The taste is similar, in fact it drinks far easier than a 7%+ beer should be. Quite good.

“Sündenbock“, “hergestellt und abgefüllt für Schlossbrauerei Herrngiersdorf“, Flasche (50 cl) vom Getränkemarkt Leitner, Schwabach. - Kastanienrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase süßsäuerliches Lakritz, mattes Dunkelmalz und Bayrisch Blockmalz. - Antrunk satt dunkelmalzig mit kräftiger karamelliger Malzsüße, abgeschmeckt mit fruchtiger Säure und matter Bitterschokolade. Schwache, vage Herbe. Gut rezent, für einen Doppelbock wenig malztief. Im Abgang mild malzbitter, nur eine Andeutung muffiger Hopfenherbe. - Recht seichter, bonbonartig malziger Doppelbock ohne Tiefgang und Wucht, bei dem das Fehlen des Hopfens fühlbar ist. Enttäuschend.
