Keg @ Maltings, York. Brighter orange-amber with a small carbonation. Surprisingly fruity in both aroma and taste, although it is strong tasting so there’s no big sips of this at any time.

Taste comprises bitter citrics, sticky mango, orange pith, grapefruit, sweet licks, caramel. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sticky close laced with booze. Nice stuff if a little boozey, DIPA / Barley wine hybridism.

Craft 100 at Craft Clapham. Keg.. Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is surprisingly light with good fine crispness. Light malts, semi sweet. Nice tangy pineapple with lesser orange and hop spice. A smooth floral streak runs throughout. Light finish. A super drinkable golden barleywine. Lovely. 3.9

Craft Clerkenwell. Keg. A couple of halfs, because this is a great beer. The grape really shines here, quite intense and yes it is a little winey. Joining the party are kiwi, elderflower and gooseberry. It’s a lovely combo and the beer is stupid drinkable because of it, that and the very good masking of the big abv. A delight.

Keg at Craft 100. It pours lightly hazy golden with a small white head. The nose is soft, fruity, tangerine, apricot, pineapple, mango and juicy fruit chewing gum. The taste is crisp, bitter-sweet, tangerine, passion fruit, lemon, sherbet, grapefruit, straw, alcohol warmth and dried mango with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Big, punchy and juicy. Great.

Keg. Leeds IBF. Hazy, orange colour. Thin, white head. Boozy, sweet white wine cork. Quite grassy. Lots of ripe grape. Big, astringent hop comes through. The wine element is more sweet Riesling than anything. Taste is light tart, dry, and then hop bitter. Big chewy palate, offset by a dry, white wine tartness. Tart, bitter finish. Lots going off. Unusual, and interesting, experimental beer. Liked this a lot.

From keg at Hand Drawn Monkey in Huddersfield. Dark apricot coloured body, fawn-coloured head. Dark malty smell on a backbone of moderate tartness. Malt-bitter taste added by mid-tart grapes that lingers throughout. A different and tasty sipper (09.07.2014).
