Opaque black - brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is smooth and fairly dry, decent carbonation. Smooth dark malts, very smooth, a little dark chocolate. Very good piney hop, strong but smooth. Spicy hop. Red berries. Touch of orange citrus. Smooth finish. Cracking CDA. For me almost definitive of the style.

Bottle shared in Warsaw. Big thanks to Dave! Pours clear reddish brown with a bubbly, tan head. The nose has moderate toasted malts, burnt pine, cocoa. Light-medium sweet flavour with more cocoa, toasted pine, mild earthy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more baking cocoa, moderate roast, light earthy bitterness. Not bad.

Keg at Taproom. Pours black with a thin off white head that thins out fast. Aroma is roast malts, coffee, caramel and a Hoppy sweetness. Taste is coffee, chocolate, a hint of smoke and dark roast malts. Finish has the Hop lift that brings a nice bitterness to it. Solid CDA
