Get your taste buds ready for massive pine and candied orange aromas combined with bitter/sweet grapefruit and mango flavours all complemented by a deeply composed, satisfyingly malty base. Draft @ Tilquin English Fest ’16, courtesy of and shared with the fine Belgian RB crew. Dorée, léger trouble, col blanc. Arôme est superbement bien houblonné, impression de sac de houblon, Simcoesque et plein de bon résineux. Palais est résineux, encore résineux, léger fruité agrumes avec une base maltée arrivant en rétro et assurant la balance.

Draught Small off-white head over muddy, peach-coloured beer. Nice flowery-fruity hops, bit of frying oil, fresh breadcrust, yeast. Bitter, resiny, hops, grains, and again slightly bready. Hopbread (yes, that exists in Belgium) with very bitter hops. Dry, medium bodied at least. Nice DIPA.

Very cloudy orange beer, small irregular off-white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: resinous, bit dank, fruity, lots of pineapple. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very resinous, fruity, tropical fruits, bit sourish, pineapple, citrus, lemon. Aftertaste: some kiwi, lychee, bit sweet, very bitter, resinous, lovely beer!

Very cloudy orange beer, small irregular off-white head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: resinous, bit dank, fruity, lots of pineapple. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very resinous, fruity, tropical fruits, bit sourish, pineapple, citrus, lemon. Aftertaste: some kiwi, lychee, bit sweet, very bitter, resinous, lovely beer!

Cans from Cornelius (in 2016 & 2017) and Great Grog (in 2022). Clear deep golden body with a thin white head (the earlier versions were hazy). Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of fresh hops, mango, honey, toasted coconut, pineapple, flowers and marmalade. Flavour of pineapple, grapefruit, peanut shell, pine and a hint of hop spice and bitterness on the finish. Medium body with an oily mouthfeel. Soft fizz. An incredible beer - the aroma is fantastic. This 2022 version is singing and reminded me of Lagunitas’ Hop Stoopid.

On tap at the Hanging Bat, Edinburgh. pours cloudy orange with medium white head. Fruity hop aroma. Medium marmalade sweetness, caramel malt, pine, citrus. Lasting bitter finish. Medium to full bodied. Nice one.

Pours hazy golden with a medium white head. The aroma is pine, peach, caramel, passion fruit and sweet malt. The flavor is high fruity, malty and has citrusy and piney notes. Very drinkable for the ABV, yummy stuff!
