Butelka 0,5 z datą ważności do 7.07.2016, temperatura degustacji 14-16 stopni +, szkło snifter. AROMAT: słodki, przyjemny czekoladowy ( praliny), ciemne owoce z delikatną nutą Porto, alkohol wyczuwalny w delikatny i subtelny sposób. Wysycenie średnie do niskiego, średnia pełnia. Taki lekki sesyjny Ris.

Polish imperial stout, shared with tderoeck, Ster and Erwin. Creamy, pale brownish beige, moussy and stable head, black colour but still translucent and chestnut-hued on its edges. Aroma of cold black coffee, bitter chocolate, mocha ice cream, raw cauliflower, wet leather, charcoal, bayleaf, hard butterscotch candy, charred meat, whisky, black olive, pepper. Hint of fig-like sweetness in the onset quickly followed by much more outspoken umami (black olive, even some vague cured meat) and a sourish undercurrent of roasted barley; softish carbo, thick and oily, creamy body. Deep nutty and strongly toasted caramel bittersweetness in the middle, more bitterness than sweetness, becoming lightly coffeeish roasted bitter in the end, mouth-filling with peppery hop bitterness to support it, along with a warming, wodka-like alcohol glow; the spicy hoppiness and the roasted bitterness last for a long time. Classic in its make-up, this almost reminds me of the most traditional examples of this style I know (Courage, Samuel Smiths), but that is how I learned to love imperial stout anyway so I cannot have anything against that. Traditional, ’old school’ European RIS, let’s say, and a very decent one at that. The Polish craft beer movement keeps pleasantly surprising me from time to time.
