Bottle at home picked up from Kris wines. Dark brown / black coloured pour with a reddy hues, lively frothy mid tan head. Aroma is initially, charred wood, smoke, sweet lactose, toasted coconut. Later some tangy acrid smoke develops on the nose. Flavour is composed of slight sweet, and tast roast, tart red berry, toasted coconut, nutty brown malts, smooth roast. Palate is medium sweet with a tart edge, medium bodied, highish powdery carbonation. Just a pinch of smokey chilli choc heat in the finish. Nicely balanced. maybe a little sweet. Nice layered sweet stout

Half, on tap at Craft Beer Co - Clapham. 5.5 % abv. Jet black body, naked surface, fair lacing. Mid-sweet malty aromas, hints of chocolate, ash, and earth. The flavour character combines mid-sweet chocolate, cherry, mild lactose and spices very well. A nice chili twist to the ending. Fine bodied. A lovely one (London 12.07.2015).
